The Trend that Won’t Quit: Off the Shoulder

March 15, 2017

One trend that I am not mad at all is off the shoulder. Give me off the shoulder tops, dresses…I am so down because I think this neckline is so pretty and so universally flattering. No one could be happier that this trend is here to stay. This blouse was a recent purchase from Forever 21, and I am literally obsessed with it. It’s so light and airy, but it has this awesome structure to it that keeps it in place. Nothing is more annoying than constantly tugging at your off the shoulder top to stay up, am I right?! This top has wire boning in it, so you can be assured that it will keep its sweetheart shape and stay put.

Another brilliant recent purchase I had from Forever 21 were these loafers. If you didn’t catch my Real V. Steal where I compared these to the Gucci loafers, you can check that out here. Let me just say, these are incredible dupes for the much more expensive Gucci shoe. And seriously, even if I had those kinds of funds, I am not entirely sure I would want to spend it on such a trendy shoe. Dupes are great for this because you can get in on a trend while it is hot, but spend little to nada of your hard-earned dinero on a piece that may be long gone next year.

I wore this look the other day to go to brunch with my girls. If you’re not aware, brunch is a huge deal here in Southern California. It is the single most important meal of your weekend, to be honest. I haven’t gotten to go brunching much lately, but as the quarter winds down into spring break, I was glad to take a minute and catch up with friends over bottomless mimosas. This look was the perfect amount of dressy and casual for a boozy and bubbly Sunday afternoon.
