How to Dress Up Cutoff Shorts + A Fun and Inexpensive Date Night in Los Angeles

September 5, 2016

IMG_3209

Happy Labor day everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your day off. Today I am sharing my look from last Friday night’s date night! Sometimes you gotta just throw on a pair of denim cutoffs and just be casual, especially when it is sooo hot outside. If you think denim shorts are too casual for date night, think again, because you can definitely class them up with some heels. These slingbacks are perfect for that, and #sorrynotsorry for wearing them in two blog posts in a row, because I love them that much! (If you didn’t catch my last blog post where I talk about these amazing Chanel slingback dupes, check that out here!) They are so comfy and classy, and I walked all over downtown in them without one tear from foot pain.

If you were following along on snapchat, (you can find me at msmoorestyle) then you probably got the full scoop on me and my boyfriend’s little downtown LA adventure! I feel like it is super important to always be changing things up and trying new things. It can be easy to fall into the dinner and a movie rut, which don’t get me wrong is always great, but sometimes you gotta get out and explore, especially when you live in an incredible city like Los Angeles! I’d been hearing about this place called Grand Central Market and how it was recently revamped and is full of awesome restaurant stands. We decided to jump on the Metro Red Line to avoid the horrible Friday traffic, and it was so easy getting there because Grand Central Market is just a couple blocks walk from the Pershing Square station. Once inside, you can sample all kinds of food, from pasta, tacos, vegan ramen, and oysters. They also have a great wine bar as well as a Golden Road Brewery bar. We definitely hopped around a couple different places and tried several stands. If you’re not sure what you’re in the mood to eat, this place is perfect, because you can nibble on a little bit of everything here! Next time you find yourself in need of a fun night in downtown LA, this is a great place to start because you can go to so many other fun nightlife spots afterwards.

I’m always looking for new ways to explore during date night, but unfortunately there aren’t too many options in Baton Rouge 🙁 I can hardly wait until we move later next year so we’ll have more to do! Looks like you had a fun date night. I love your outfit layered under the camo jacket!
