To say that I live a busy life is a little bit of an understatement. I had this grand illusion that when I was out of school for the summer that I would have a couple months of rest and relaxation, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth! While its great that I don’t have to worry about school for a couple months, things are still kind of insane, and that is why it is so important to take a day for myself. I know I’m not alone in this struggle, because so many of us lead lives that we can barely keep up with. Taking care of yourself should be a priority, although I know I haven’t been great about doing that, I’m trying to change that!
A spa day is one of my favorite ways to unplug and unwind, so I decided to treat myself to a day at Burke Williams. I love their new location in Hollywood because it is so glam, but also so luxurious and chill. It is quiet…like…really quiet. If you need to go and actually be able to hear your own thoughts, this is the place! When you book services at Burke Williams, you get the benefit of also using their facilities. I decided on a facial and hair services, but you best believe I arrived very early in order to hit up the hot tub and sauna. The best part is, you can’t have your cell phone in these areas, so you are forced to have so amazing quiet moments to yourself.
My first appointment of the day was a facial, which believe me, I do not get enough of. As horrible as that realization may be, you can’t underestimate the benefit of a good facial, because you have to get your skin cleaned out and taken care of every once in a while. This facial was probably the best I have ever had. My facialist’s name was Kay, and she was just incredible. Seriously, if you find yourself going to the Hollywood Burke Williams for a facial, just ask for her, because she’s the best! Not only did my skin feel incredible afterwards, she’s just such a positive light of a human being, you can’t help but feel uplifted when she is finished with you. Also, my skin was just glowing for the rest of the day, which is what we all want after a facial, am I right?!
After some time in the hot tub, sauna, steam room, and then getting a facial, my hair obviously needed some help, so I finished my day off with a blow out in their hair salon they have on site. You can get your hair washed and blown out in any number of styles they have available to choose from, so that you leave the spa looking like a million bucks. My blowout looked incredible for two days after this appointment, so you know it was good!
Burke Williams also offers so many other incredible services. I didn’t have time for a massage that day, but I will definitely be going back soon to try that out, because this girl always needs a massage! One thing I really appreciated about the spa was the fact that they have a little room completely equipped with any and all things you could need to get yourself looking presentable to go back out into the world, such as razors, hair styling tools, hair products, and the like. No matter what you go in for, you’re bound to leave feeling amazing and refreshed. Here’s the great news!
