Transitioning Your Summer Dress to Fall

October 28, 2016

Version 2

Happy Friday everyone! No one is as excited for the weekend as I am, believe me! Things are getting pretty crazy over here, between midterms, work and the blog…I think I might have too much going on, what would you say? One thing I realized last weekend is that even through all the craziness, you’ve gotta make time to have brunch with your girls and enjoy life a little bit, so that is exactly what I did. I might have been exhausted, but hey, I don’t look it right?!

November is almost upon us, which means the days are getting shorter and cooler: it is definitely time to start layering! One of the reasons I love fall for fashion is that I love playing around with layering in a way that is not possible in the summer when all you want to do is wear as little as decency allows. While it is great to go out and buy new pieces for the season, it is also important to realize that some of your summer pieces can transition quite easily into your fall wardobe. Take this adorable shift dress for example. You can easily layer so many different shirts under this to make it a little warmer for the chillier months. Initially, I was dead set on putting a white, high-necked, Victorian-style blouse I thought I owned under this…it would have been perfect, but I guess it got lost in one of my recent closet purges. (This is why I have such a hard time getting rid of stuff!) It wasn’t too much of a loss, as I had this fun bell-sleeved top that definitely added to the look with this pattern.

I have the Target version of that bag and brought it with me to Spain. I use it all the time. Love it!
