Keepin’ It Casual, Military Style

December 8, 2016

I am writing this post fresh off of finishing all my many papers for the fall quarter, so I can finally relax and kick back, because I am done with my first quarter at UCLA! Unfortunately, I now have to wait with much anxiety while my professors get everything graded…say a prayer for me! What I do know is that I am excited to get a little more me time, at least for the next month.

This look was shot in the freezing cold while I was back in the midwest during Thanksgiving week. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful week visiting with his family and attending his high school reunion. One place I always love visiting while we are in his hometown is the nearby town of Galena, Illinois. This quaint and adorable town was once the hometown of Ulysses S. Grant. My boyfriend was quick to point out that this military jacket was pretty appropriate considering that I was visiting the home of a former Northern general, which I had to agree with. I am always on the look out for a good military coat, because I love the style and it is so classic. This particular coat caught my eye because it also features these fun patches that really set it apart. I love statement jackets like this because they can really transform an everyday look like jeans and a sweater and give it that extra something that makes your outfit so much more unique.

I’ve also dressed this jacket up in the past….to see that outfit, click here.
