Our Stay at Tower23

We all need a little escape from the hustle and bustle, am I right? Nothing says reset and relax to me like a trip to the coast. I know to anyone reading this who doesn’t live in

Southern California, this probably sounds weird, because I live in LA, so I already technically live on the coast? Well, friends, that’s where you are mistaken, because I live exactly 21 miles from the coast which is 21 miles too far the majority of my life. I recently had the pleasure of going on a little girls trip to San Diego with a couple of my girlfriends, and we stayed right on the beach at this beautiful hotel, Tower23, and it was a dream! I felt I would be doing you all a disservice by not sharing my experience at this luxury boutique hotel by the beach so that you too can get away to sunny San Diego and relax by the beach in style and comfort.

First of all, let’s talk location. Tower23 is located in Pacific Beach, which is a chill beach town in San Diego, beloved by sunbathers and surfers alike. Within walking distance, biking, or even Lime/Bird/whatever-other-scooter-brands-are-out-there-now distance, there are tons of great bars, restaurants, and shopping. If you only wanted to come and have a relaxing getaway by the beach, you could totally just explore the nearby area of Tower23 and find plenty to see and do. 

Upon checking in, I was in love with how clean and modern the aesthetic of this hotel was. Its minimal and chic, but with a beachy twist. The rooms are roomy enough for three girls with way too much wardrobe for a two day trip to have their suitcases explode and still like each other after the trip is over. If you’re not a person who over-packs for any occasion, you probably don’t that, but apparently I attract other over packers as friends, so we were all in good company together. I really loved how the room was equipped with a Keurig, because let’s be honest, many hotels will give you that horrible little drip coffee machine and that just does not fly in my book.

Obviously, when you get out of town on a girl’s trip, you gotta pop some bottles! 

Shortly after that bottle pop, the good people at Tower23 sent us up a bottle of red, which was so sweet of them, and y’all know I’m never gonna turn down wine! This leads me to another point…the service at this hotel was AMAZING. Seriously, all the staff we encountered, and I had lots of interactions with various staff, were all so nice, so accommodating, and really made us feel at home.

The next morning, it was incredible to wake up and walk right out to the beach. There’s nothing like starting your day with the sound of waves! We decided it was imperative that we order breakfast in bed, so room service it was! I can attest to the fact that the avocado toast and acai bowl from JRDN, the in-house eatery at Tower32, were both delicious…we are every bite!

After breakfast, the next logical step is surf, sand, and sun, am I right? Tower32 has plenty of beach cruisers on hand for rental for their guests, the perfect way to get around Pacific Beach!

Of course, no day is done without some wine, at least that’s how I roll. The girls and I topped off a fun day of sightseeing and adventures with some delicious wine on the tower deck, taking in this incredible sunset. Our stay here was so incredible, it was the perfect spot for our fun girls getaway. I know I will definitely be back next time I’m in sunny San Diego!
