Dare to Wear: Vinyl Pants and How to Style Them

Alright, I love a good classic look, but you also gotta know that when a new fun trend pops up, I am here. for. it. In case you weren’t aware, latex, or vinyl, pants have popped up on the scene this year. I’m not gonna lie, when I first saw this I was pretty scared to try this trend. I’m pretty sure the only other instance I’d ever known anyone to ever wear latex is dominatrixes….dominatrixi? What is the proper plural of dominatrix? If you know, please school me in the comments, because I am sure I am not correct here. All spelling and grammar mistakes aside, its safe to assume it is not common place to walk down the street in pants of this material. Vinyl pants will definitely turn some heads, and not just because they look painted on….they’re also kinda noisy to walk in. I guess you could say this trend is a full commitment.

All of that being said, if you’re up for the challenge, I highly recommend giving this trend a go, it isn’t as scary as you might think when you know how to style it. One piece of advice I would give if you want to ease yourself into wearing vinyl pants is to find a big, oversized top to balance out the sexy going on with your lower half. Don’t deny it, you know your booty is gonna look bomb.com in these pants…maybe a little too bomb.com, so if you’re not ready for full on vamp, balance it out with an oversized knit like I have on here. Wearing an oversized sweater sort of distracts from the fact that you’re basically wearing dominatrix pants….maybe. I topped this look off which some leopard print Jimmy Choos because I think secretly I may have been channeling my inner Catwoman; vinyl pants seem like just the fashion choice she’d make. BTW: I totally scored said leopard print Jimmy Choos at my local Crossroads for $35. I nearly died when I found them. Moral of the story- budget fashionista dreams do come true!
