How to tackle the lingerie as streetwear trend…perfect for this searing heat we have been experiencing!
So here’s the thing….its just super hot outside, so all I’ve been thinking about is how to have the least amount of fabric on my body as humanly possible, can you blame me? It really had me thinking…as temperatures continue to rise every year, what do you think summer fashion will look like in 20 years?! Will we all just be walking around in our skivvies? All hypotheticals aside, I love wearing “lingerie” as streetwear. While it sounds crazy, its actually not that hard to tackle this trend. With the help of my new pieces from Candie’s, I am doing just that in style.
When you are a 34DD, it can be really difficult to find cute bralettes that work for you. My biggest problem is that for my size, companies that make bralettes just assume that the rest of my body matches my bra size, which is not true. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried on my bralettes from Candie’s, because they fit perfectly and weren’t too big in the places where I needed them to be snug. I’m obsessed with this matching set, and love the criss-cross details on the bralette. This bralette is a great option to wear under lower cut tops and dresses that actually looks cute peaking out from your clothing. This is definitely one way to do lingerie as streetwear when you let your more delicate pieces show on purpose. Also, how can you not feel like a total babe when you know you’re wearing a matching set under your clothes?
Another way I discovered to do the lingerie as streetwear is this amazing body suit. Honestly, this bodysuit has been on repeat all summer as I’ve been mixing and matching it with different bottoms, the most popular of my options being this cute wrap skirt and also cut off denim shorts. I love it because it gives that sort of peek of skin with the sheer lace, but its supportive enough to keep everything together with its adjustable straps. It also feels super lightweight to wear and I’m definitely loving that on these triple digit days we have been experiencing here in Socal!
