How to Wear Lingerie As Street Wear

If there’s one thing I’m not afraid of, its trying out a new trend. Y’all know I am always game to experiment and be daring with fashion, however, this lingerie as streetwear trend has had me thrown for a minute, but in honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d dip my toes in here. I’ve loved this trend on everyone I’ve seen it on, and have been wanting to give it a go myself, but I just couldn’t get over the sexy factor of this look. As you all have probably gathered, I don’t normally go for the super sexy look around here, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to channel those vibes sometimes. Because of that, I had to find a way to style this lingerie as street wear trend in a way that wasn’t too over the top.

The answer, at least in my case, was to style this with mom jeans and a boyfriend style blazer. My go-to solution whenever something feels too too sexy is to cool it off with pieces that are inherently less sexy. This sort of keeps the balance and makes the look more appropriate, and not too….well, bedroom if ya know what I mean! This bodysuit I’m wearing is actual lingerie, but I opted to wear a bra under it to give it more coverage. The challenge of this look for me is the fact that I am a little bigger in the chest than some ladies are, so the key is to have enough coverage to its not too revealing. If you’re a member of the itty bitty club, know that I am jealous, and you can get away with a lot more for lingerie as non-bedroom attire, so congrats! Honestly, this look is all about what you personally are comfortable with wearing. The lingerie as streetwear look is something I am still trying to figure out, it is tough, but not impossible.
