Go Big or Go Home: Flare Pants and How to Wear Them

December 27, 2017

If there is any recent purchase I was super hesitant to pull the trigger on and then LOVED afterwards, it would be these red flare pants. I had these in my Shein cart for a while right before fashion week, and wanted to buy them but wasn’t entirely sure of how they would look on me. Also, they just seemed almost TOO extra (I know, is there such a thing?!) but nevertheless, I clicked BUY because I was trying to take some fashion risks in New York. First of all, these flare pants fit so freaking well. I was afraid that they wouldn’t look good on my non model figure, but no, they are fab! I think that the super flare on the bottom actually helps to balance you out and create a really nice shape, especially if you’ve got some hips like I do. I can’t tell you how many people have complimented these pants, which really just reaffirms the fact that this was a great shopping decision and I’m so glad I decided to try them out.

Now, let’s say you get some of these flare pants…how do you wear them?! Obviously, you can tuck a blouse into them like I have done in this post. But flare pants also go really well with cropped tops of any type. For now, I’m going to pair them with cropped sweaters, but I know come summer, they’d look adorable with say, a gingham crop top. During fashion week and on a couple other occasions, I’ve also worn these with different black body suits and that too was a winning combo. I also like to wear this particular pair of flare pants with some sort of heel because they have this kind of high/low thing going on. Heels tend to also help with any flare pants unless you’re just naturally tall and your hem hits at the right place. In my experience though, most people can use a little extra height with flare pants to keep the bottom of the pants from bunching and to give you extra elongating effects…flare pants really are very flattering and forgiving!
