Channeling My Inner Blair Waldorf

October 24, 2016

img_3751

The other day, I came home from school, plopped myself on the couch, and exclaimed to my boyfriend, “I am exhausted!” After all, I’d been up since 7am, been atschool for most the day, and still had plenty of work and homework to do.  He responded, “Maybe if you didn’t make going to school a fashion show and and just rolled out of bed and wore sweats like normal people, you’d get more sleep!” I can understand his point, but I was a bit taken aback that someone who should know me and know better would say such a thing! Honestly, I’ve never been that person who would wear sweats to school, in fact, I was that girl in high school that came to school in heels. While I’m not advocating wearing heels to school now, (yay for sneakers being the new shoe to wear with errrrthaaang) I will not give up the fashion show, lack of sleep be damned.

While this outfit is definitely not something I would ever wear to school, when I put it on, I immediately felt like Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl (man, do I miss that show!) and you know that she would definitely wear this look to school. I’ve been wanting to play around with wearing socks with heels, and these polka dot socks, which are kind of more like hosiery, work perfectly since they’re so thin. This is one fashion trend I’m a little unsure of still, so I’ll definitely be tentatively playing around with it in the future. On the other hand, one trend that I’ve got going on here that I am completely confident in and love is the military jacket trend. Military jackets were all over the fall runways and I have been looking for a good one all season. This one is made a little bit more fun with the addition of these patches which is another major trend this year.
