The Many Benefits of Cleaning Out Your Closet!

I am a self-proclaimed clothes hoarder. I literally have the HARDEST time getting rid of clothes. I have a myriad of excuses to justify my madness...I might fit into this again someday…this will come back in style…so-and-so spent so much money on this!….I spent so much money on this…and the list goes on and on. Here’s the thing: when you have no more room in your closet to hang your new clothes, this is an issue, especially when you haven’t worn half your closet in years! At this point, it is time to wake up and smell the coffee and purge. Honestly, if you haven’t worn something in the last 6 months, it is time to go. I definitely had stuff in my closet I hadn’t worn in over 5 years…that is just insane!

Cleaning out your closet has so many benefits. For one, you get rid of all those old clothes that you know you really don’t need. When you have all that empty space, you now have room for new, much more awesome stuff. Plus, you can sometimes find an old gem that you totally forgot you owned, like this wrap maxi skirt. Seriously, how did I forget about this beauty!

Another great benefit to cleaning out your closet is that you can either donate your clothes to those in need, or you can make some cash! If something is stained or more than “gently loved,” give it to Goodwill. On the other hand, if some of your clothing is still in style and in good shape, you can list it on a site like Poshmark and earn some money to update your closet!

On another note, have you signed up for your free trial of Ditto yet? Do it. Endless eyewear on rotation for a whole month? You can change up your look so many times for literally $0. Check it out, and use my code MISSMOORESTYLE for that free month!

Cute outfit! I just did a true purge about 6 months ago. I love getting dressed in the morning. My clothes fit well and I truly picked the pieces I love the most so it’s never a “blah” day

I’m going through the exact same thing except it’s to figure out which stuff I can pack in my suitcase and which stuff I’m selling on Poshmark. I’m really trying to be a minimalist and take things I know I can accessorize well. I know I’ll buy so many new things in Spain/Europe anyway.

Great pictures! I’m definitely over due for a purge. I’m going to hold a in home clothing sale because a lot of my things are in good condition so I might as well make some extra cash.
