So apparently yesterday was the first day of fall. Well, all you sweater wearing, blanket scarf snuggling, PSL drinking babes out there consider yourself lucky, because it is still HELLA hot here in Los Angeles. Literally, fall here is a bit of a joke. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to join the rest of the world and get all festive with the fall season, but its just not happening in this 90 degree weather. I’m not too upset about this, seeing as how I have some awesome pieces that will not only keep me cool now but layer nicely later. Take this adorable cactus print bralette for example. I have been obsessed with anything and everything cactus print lately, so as soon as I saw this cute top I was in love. The other thing to love is the fact that it has an actual bra built in, so that’s just one less layer to die of heat stroke in! I can’t wait to layer it with a collared button down blouse underneath for a very Cher a la Clueless look once it starts to cool off! The other thing I love about this top is that it is locally made in LA by the brand Voorpret LA. Make sure you check out their website to get updated on when and where you can purchase their adorable, vintage-inspired pieces!
This denim skirt is also such a great transitional piece, because while it really works with this cropped bralette, its gonna be so awesome with my cropped sweaters later! I was in need of a longer denim skirt, so when I saw this one I snagged it. I feel like denim skirts are not going anywhere anytime soon, so really the more the merrier, am I right?
On a whole different note, I started classes at UCLA today! For those of you who might not know, I am transferring there this fall from community college to major in Mass Communications, so I am really stoked to see what the school year is going to bring. I really have no idea how tough it is going to be compared to my past semesters at CC, so bear with me as I may have to decrease my posting schedule a bit during the week. I am not trying to have a meltdown over here, but there’s just so much going on, I want to make sure I don’t spread myself too thin!
