Remember when you hit a growth spurt as a kid and consequently grew a little too tall for your pants? When this happened to me, I always remember SOMEONE joking that I looked like I was “waiting for a flood.” It was probably one of the more mortifying aspects of gaining an inch or two. Who would have thought that pants that make you look like you’re waiting for a flood are now cool? Considering the fact that this is the big, bad, “El Nino” year, perhaps this fashion trend is just what we need! Last fall, all anyone could talk about was how bad El Nino was going to be this year. For those of you who aren’t familiar with El Nino, it is the much anticipated torrential downpour of rain we were to experience here on the West coast. Seeing as how we have been in a horrible drought the last couple years, this was great new…give us all the rain! Well, unfortunately, El Nino hasn’t really lived up to everyone’s monsoon-like expectations. This past weekend, instead of the super rainy weekend that was forcasted, we got a feeble drizzle. Way to go, El Nino. In any case, if you can get past your horrible childhood experiences, go out and try a pair of cropped flares. They might just come in handy should El Nino decide to get its act together.
