How to Look and Stay Cool when its 100+ Degrees Outside

IMG_7835Happy Emmy’s Sunday! While I wasn’t fortunate to get an invite to the hottest show in town tonight, if I was going to go to the Emmy’s, I would want to wear something like this! Honestly, every person interviewed on the red carpet this afternoon commented on how freakin’ hot it is in LA today. My love for maxi dresses has already been established, but this has to be my favorite maxi dress thus far. It is breezy, light, and flowy, and these gorgeous shades of blue remind me of the ocean. When it is 100 degrees or more outside, a great strategy is to wear something loose and light. Honestly, the less fabric you have on your skin the better, so this dress is honestly the perfect alternative to walking around in your swimsuit because the cut of the dress makes the fabric flow away from your body. To give this dress even more of a boho feel, I slipped on these gladiator sandals and an arm cuff. Seriously, you couldn’t ask for a more comfortable combo on a day like today. If you happen to live near an H&M, look for this dress there because I saw it marked down to $25 in store…for some reason it isn’t marked down online. While summer may be coming to a close, I promise this dress will be just as gorgeous and ready to be worn by next summer.
