An Ode to the Boyfriend Jeans

DSC_0257

If you have been keeping up with fashion at all lately, you have probably heard that the skinny jean’s days might be numbered. Whether or not you are ready to ditch your skinnies for good, there are so many equally awesome styles of pants out there, such as flares, culottes, and wide leg trousers. While I think it will take a lot for me to ditch my skinny jeans, sometimes a good “boyfriend” jean is really necessary. They’re baggy and slouchy and hole-y and generally much more comfortable than a pair of skinnies. Plus, they look effortless, like you just grabbed the first pair of pants you could find off the floor regardless of who they belong to kind of way. While is this a great look, it can tend to be tricky if you aren’t super tall and leggy. While I am slightly taller than average at 5’7″, I feel that these jeans can sometimes make me look a little too frumpy. If you aren’t super model tall, sometimes a little added height can give boyfriend jeans a more flattering, dressed-up look. Nude pumps are great for this because they give the illusion that your legs are longer than they are, but any heel could work. Because these pants have a lot going on, I like to keep the top simple, but a fun, sequin-sleeved jacket never hurt anybody. ๐Ÿ˜‰
