Modern Fem

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a happy New Year! This year, it is one of my goals to be more consistent and post more on this blog. However, to do so, I obviously need pictures of my outfits. This can sometimes be a challenge when I can’t find anyone to help me with this. A couple months ago I bought a tripod and started trying to take my own pictures, but this proved to be pretty frustrating. Obviously, making sure that you are actually taking pictures that are in focus is pretty difficult when you are setting the self timer and running in front of it, hoping to get yourself in just the right spot. On top of that, I personally have a hard time not looking completely stupid in my pictures if there are people nearby witnessing this whole process. All I am thinking to myself when people do catch me at this is that they must be thinking, “Who is this crazy girl and what the hell is she doing?!” Due to my own personal embarrassment and ensuing inner monologue, I have to find somewhere that is COMPLETELY deserted…something that is hard to do in a crowded city like Los Angeles. Luckily, this school was just the right amount of deserted yesterday and I got my first successful pictures all by myself! I’m really proud of myself and excited because I think I’m really starting to get the hang of this, which means more posts for all of you! 😉

So, about this outfit. Although I do like to change up my style a lot, when it comes down to it, I really love classic, feminine pieces the most. They never go out of style and they will always make you look put together and polished. My mom and dad got me this amazing Kate Spade bag for Christmas, and I have used it every day since because I am obsessed (Thanks, mom and dad!) I have had a love affair of all things Kate Spade for a while, because her pieces are classic and feminine, with a fun, whimsical twist. I got the biggest compliment when a friend of mine told me yesterday that I looked like I just walked out of an edgy Kate Spade ad in this. In a way, that was exactly what I was going for- classic and feminine, but with a modern twist, so…mission accomplished!
